The wedding I’m most proud of…

I only take a handful of Full-Planning wedding couples a year because I want to ensure that they receive the time and attention they deserve from me. Avery and Jackson was one of those weddings and we had been working on their wedding vision for over a year together!

What Avery and Jackson knew for sure was that they very much wanted a fall-themed wedding. Especially considering the fact that their big day was the day after Halloween! But they also know that they did NOT want it to be too “Halloween-y” even though their colors were technically black and orange.

So Kara, our florist and owner of “It Can be Arranged”, and I put our heads together and came up with a solid mood board. She came up with the genius idea of doing floral arrangements out of pumpkins and I started to piece together the rest of the details to make sure we accomplished exactly what our couple dreamed of. The final product turned out better than I could have ever imagined.

I don’t call myself a graphic designer but give me some solid tools on Canva and I can make magic happen. I designed all the stationary, posters, and menus in the months leading up to the wedding day and I put so much time, care, and attention in those little details. Everything from the verbiage on their wedding website and all the mass emails I sent out to their guests, as well as thinking through the transportation gameplan and wedding favors by my favorites, Don and Belinda Carringer with Carringer Farms! They provided the sweetest honey and spiced blueberry jam.

I helped Avery and Jackson handpick the best of the best when it comes to vendors I have worked with in the past. We had such a solid crew with Whitney Olson behind the camera, DJ Karl Mohr sourcing all of our entertainment needs as well as providing the personalized corn hole board we used as their guest book, Casa Rustica with all the food and beverages, and Charmed Settings & Co. supplied our rental needs.

By the time their weekend finally arrived, it was hard to believe that all of our hard work was about to pay off. On Thursday, the whole family and I met up for breakfast and had one final planning session where we discussed exactly what the next few days would look like. And then on Friday, we celebrated Halloween with a themed dinner (costume required) that was planned by our groom’s parents. They absolutely knocked it out of the park.

Most of the wedding guests and bridal party were coming up from Florida and on the day of the rehearsal, the weather was FREEZING. We ended up only being able to stay outside for the first ceremony walkthrough and retreated inside for the rest of rehearsal to warm up. It definitely made us nervous about how all the Floridians would weather the cold the next day but luckily that didn’t happen.

We had nothing but sunshine, beautiful weather, and smiles on the day of Avery and Jackson’s wedding. There literally couldn’t have been a more perfect fall day. Throughout the day, one thing after another kept going right and I was truly beaming with pride on how it all came together. I don’t mean to toot my own horn, but TOOT! TOOT!! I couldn’t have planned this day ANY better and I felt SO fulfilled at the end of the night.

I learn so much at the end of every wedding, especially a full-planning wedding! Some things I’ve learned from this one in particular is make sure my couples sign up for their liquor license with PLENTY of time leading up to the wedding day. That was definitely a source of stress but luckily, we were able to score our ABC permits right on time. I also love learning more about how to utilize all the tools on the planning platform I use (Aisle Planner). I managed the entire wedding through this platform including their wedding website, guest list, budget, and so much more.

I can confidently say that this wedding made me so much more prepared and self-assured that I am doing exactly what I am meant to do. Making dreams come true for my couples who are wildly in love. I truly have the best job in the world, to be a constant witness to the unity of two beautiful souls.
