A mad dash to the finish line…

Have you ever planned a wedding in two months? Well we have! I received an inquiry from Elliana and Peyton a whole month and a half before their big day. I thought…surely this is a typo but nope! I’ve always liked a challenge, so I told my couple to buckle up because we were about to go for one heck of a ride.

It was boots on the ground running as soon as that contract was signed. Within the first few weeks, we secured a caterer, venue, rentals, and a photographer. Thank God we were able to secure all of our vendors with ease due to them getting married during the off-season. Luckily Elliana made my job easy since she was absolutely on top of it when it came to the overall planning and vision for the wedding.

Also a HUGE shoutout to Elliana’s Mom for being the creative mastermind behind the overall design. She could be a professional decorator if she truly wanted to be. That woman has got some SERIOUS talent and can operate on an ungodly amount of sleep. I think we counted 3.5 hours of sleep in the 48 hours leading up to the wedding? She is a super-mom who would move mountains for her daughter.

Also a huge shoutout to all the vendors who were incredibly flexible and patient as we worked through all the details so last minute! They all went above and beyond for Elliana and Peyton as we finalized so much in the final weeks leading up to their big day. Everyone handled last minute changes and spontaneous bookings like a champ and I am SO grateful for everyone’s positive attitudes and willingness to show up not only for this lovely couple but for me as well!

I would describe being a wedding planner is like being a music conductor of a big orchestra. Everyone is waiting for their que and it’s crucial for the conductor to keep the rhythm and pace so everyone is on the same page. Without the conductor, it would be a jumbled mess.

That’s why hiring a wedding planner is so important! And I am SO happy Elliana and Peyton decided to hire me for my services. It was so much fun conducting this symphony in such a short amount of time. Maybe I’m an adrenaline junkie because I got such a kick out of it - although I am sure others did not feel the same way! :)

The Lovill House Inn was PERFECT location for this winter wedding. The entire bridal party stayed on site all weekend and Alison and her team were a huge help during the entire wedding weekend. It can be a challenge navigating the ceremony and reception when they are at two different locations but I knew I was in good hands with the Lovill House team being my eyes and ears on-site while I was at the ceremony location.

And the church congregation showed up in such a big way for the ceremony which took place at Bethel Baptist located in Vilas. They were so easy to work with and were constantly available to us when we needed them. Especially their pastor / our officiant who lead the ceremony perfectly despite being sick as a dog!

A week before the wedding, the Mother of the Bride emailed me and asked if we could collaborate together to surprise Elliana and Peyton with a sweet ride to the reception location. We ended up hiring Air Haven to drive Elliana & Peyton in the Excalibur. It couldn’t have been more perfect.

Overall, the day couldn’t have gone any better - even the rain couldn’t dampen our moods! It was whirlwind of a wedding and a chaotic mad dash to the finish line…but we did it. At the end of the night, we all celebrated and congratulated ourselves for planning this beautiful wedding in just a few months. It ain’t easy, but it is possible, especially with the help of a planner! *wink wink ;)
